Privacy Policy

The short version

The Gift Pages is a reading site. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and nothing to fill in, so we don't ask you for personal information. A few services we rely on, like our web host and Google Analytics, collect standard information about visits, and this page explains what they are.

What gets collected when you visit

Our web host. The site runs on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare may log standard request information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you load. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people read and how they find us. Google may collect device and usage information through cookies or similar technologies. See Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Amazon links

Some pages link to Amazon searches. Those links carry our Amazon Associates tag, so Amazon can tell that a visit came from us. Once you click through, you're on Amazon's site, and Amazon's privacy notice applies, including any cookies it sets. Amazon's reports show us which products were ordered through our links, but never who ordered them.

Advertising

We may show Google AdSense ads. If we do, Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads, including ads based on your interests where that's allowed. Cookies

The Gift Pages itself doesn't need cookies to work. The services above may set them. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work.

When you email us

If you write to [email protected] or [email protected], we keep your message so we can reply. We don't add you to a mailing list or share your address. If you send us a tradition to look into, we may write about it, and we'll ask before we name you.

Children

The Gift Pages is written for adults choosing gifts. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has sent us personal information, write to [email protected] and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we add a service that collects information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
